Research:

Reseach in history and traditions of forest work. Dissertation, based on folklore archive sources, focused on the social classification of lumberjacks in a regional context (Eastern Finland). Present interests: the expressive culture of the lumber camps and interpretation of different folklore phenomena. 1999-2000 has also done fieldwork (oral history interviews and visual documentation) among Russian Karelians about local forestry history during the Soviet time.
